Supported
by the indie-rock community, from Sonic Youth’s
Thurston Moore to Herman Düne, the work of Julien
Langendorff, 23 years old, finds its right place between
a moving fragility, intimate issues that make people
talk about “diary-art” while evoquiing
his art and strong diy attitude related to the various
underground scenes he sticks to.
The worlds he creates, with a
pen and paper or along sculptures and hauting installations
that mix drawings, videos and various materials are
meant to set moody and poetic atmospheres coming from
both oniric visions and visual translations of his
daily life.
He has been studying graphic
design and fashion at the superior school of applied
Arts Duppérré for 4 years ans has been
involved inseveral solo shows in Paris, Berlin and
New-York within this year.
Julien Langendorff also self
published two books, and sold 500 copies of each in
such places as centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Colette,
Galerie du Jour Agnes B, Yvon Lambert Gallery in Paris,
Cinders Gallery and various bookstores in New York.
He lives and works in Paris,
France.
